It’s fair to say that for MDA, Sunday was more successful than Saturday. However, there were still some positive results and performances from the opening day of action in Deutchsland.
Pick of the bunch over the weekend was Daryl Gurney. Superchin impressed on the final day with an encouraging journey to the quarter-final. The voyage was frought with drama, winning four continuous matches in thrilling last leg deciders.
Michael Flynn was the first to go with Gurney posting his highest average of the day – a solid 94.95. He then picked off three names that would score well in Scrabble – Ricardo Pietreczko, Martijn Kleermaker and Krzysztof Ratajski – to reach the quarters.
Awaiting there for him was the in-form Martin Schindler and unfortunately for Daryl, the German ended his trek.
